For many children, the hours after school can be the most uncertain part of the day. Some go home to an empty house because their parents are working. Others live in families that are doing everything they can just to keep up with rent, groceries, and other basic expenses. For these families, the cost of an after-school program may seem out of reach—even when they know how much their child needs a safe place to go. A scholarship to the Boys & Girls Club of Fullerton changes that.
It gives a child a safe place to spend the afternoon, a healthy snack, help with homework, caring adults who know their name, and opportunities to participate in sports, art, STEM, leadership, and other activities they might never experience otherwise. Just as importantly, it gives parents peace of mind. They can work knowing their child is safe, supported, and surrounded by positive role models. No child should miss out because their family is facing financial hardship. A scholarship opens the door to belonging, encouragement, and opportunity.
